Here’s a Guide to Help You Become a Cube Solitaire Pro

Today, laptops and computers are ubiquitous. They’re used for personal and commercial purposes. Everyone knows how to use the mouse. But a few years ago, these were new inventions, and people needed a bit of help mastering the functions of the mouse, such as dragging and dropping items, clicking, etc.

That’s when Microsoft introduced Solitaire. The single-player card game has simple controls where players have to drag and drop the cards. According to the Solitaire game type, they had to create finished builds by arranging the cards in descending or ascending order. There was no time limit, and users could spend hours figuring out the right combination.

While people can now use the mouse and are familiar with this game, the card game’s popularity has remained the same. More variants started being introduced to fuel the game’s favor, and Cube Solitaire stood out among them. It is a deceptively simple game, and newbies can learn it quickly, but it will take some time to master it. Players are faced with tricky challenges that can be overcome by learning and practicing how to play Solitaire Cube

Some ground rules you need to know before getting started are given below.

  • The primary objective is to score higher than your opponent. Create finished builds within five minutes and transfer them to the foundation pile.
  • The cards must be arranged descendingly, and you cannot assemble them in any other order. You need to place cards in alternating colors, but they must belong to the same suit.
  • You can drag and drop the cards in the tableau, arrange them, and then drag the finished build to the foundation deck to score points.
  • If you have run out of possible moves, tap on the stockpile and draw more cards.
  • If the deck isn’t solvable, click on the submit button and end the game early. You will be awarded a timer bonus.
  • If you have executed a wrong move, click the undo button and rectify the mistake.

Are the fundamental rules clear? If so, let’s quickly move on to strategies you can utilize to become a Solitaire Cube pro.

Please note that the game appears simple but has twists and turns. There are tricky challenges throughout the match sessions that will test your mental abilities. It is a skill-based game, and the card combinations keep changing for each match. So, you must study the game board and decide on the right tactics. Also, note that not all decks are winnable. When faced with unsolvable decks, you can press submit and end the game early.

While there’s no one formula for winning Cube Solitaire matches, you can enhance your chances of beating opponents with these strategies.

The Larger Stacks Need to be Thinned First

If the cards are not facing forward, you cannot use them during the game. Therefore, you need to attack the more giant stacks and try to thin those columns. You must reveal as many exposed cards as possible to use them in the game. Showing hidden cards will give you a better chance of building finished decks. You will have many more options for potential moves and can decide wisely.

Don’t Ignore the Card’s Color When Planning Your Move

In these matches, the color of the card plays a critical role. The decks need to be arranged in alternating colors. So, if you choose a black King for a column, the rest of the pile will be dictated by this color. Therefore, you must check your cards and see if the color order is feasible for you to continue the game. If you don’t have cards in alternating colors and have chosen the wrong color to start the pile, you will be in trouble. Since the sessions last five minutes, rectifying your mistake might not be possible.

The Display Pile Must Not be Left Empty if You Don’t have a King Card

Have you quickly emptied the piles and removed all the cards but need a King card? It is not the most brilliant move because the pile will only be useful if you find a King card. The entire tableau will remain empty, and you cannot use it during the game. So, if you are getting hasty in emptying a column, ensure you have a King card. Then, you can use the column as a temporary storage place for cards when rearranging a deck.

Don’t Waste Your Time Building Ace Stacks

There is no need to create unnecessary problems by moving cards to the upper Ace stack. If you have built an Ace stack, you won’t be able to move or use the cards in the piles below. Those cards might not even be recovered within five minutes of the game, and you will lose to your opponent.

Uncover the First Deck Card as Your Primary Move

As soon as the match starts, expose the first deck card and reveal the hidden card. Using this as your first move, you will have more exposed cards to give you more potential moves.

Tap the Stockpile as Late as Possible

The stockpile will give you new cards. But you must first study the game board and ensure no possible moves are left. The new cards will be kept on top of the exposed cards, and you cannot use them anymore. Therefore, be careful.

Bottom Line

So, you are equipped with all the information you need to start your journey from a Cube Solitaire newbie to becoming a pro. Play a few practice matches to implement these strategies.
